  • 1.  Xpression: Shifting "Last Name" Cell Based on "First Name" Cell

    Posted 11-05-2021 18:09
I cannot remember what it is called, to have a second text cell, in horizontal alignment BEHIND a first cell, SHIFT TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT with a degree of spacing, dependent on the length of the first cell.

IE I have to have my first and last name, in order, in two different cells, and I need the last name to shift over with a preset amount of padding, based on the length of the first name. I need to know HOW to set this up in Xpression.

in visual logic you can use the text bounding box of the first name to set the position of the last name when you add an offset.

you can also concatenate the first and last names so they become a single text field using scripting

There is also a concatenate block in visual logic now.
