  • 1.  Data Pop-In When Taking a Scene

    Posted 09-21-2022 17:05
    Hey all,
Has anyone dealt with this issue? In theory, I understood it when I was playing around with Dynamic URLs for my RSS Datalinqs, but now that we can use Table Presets with Static URLs in XPression 11, I've been experimenting and hoping I wouldn't see this anymore.

Again in theory, I can understand how too many text macros and datalinq keys could introduce delay in the data recall, but I've minimized all that just about as much as I possibly can (in this Visual Logic style) and am still seeing it take up to 2 seconds for all my data to appear on screen.

I've dealt with issues like this in the past by creating a long transition, but that was always a band-aid to the problem.

The issue looks to be with these types of queries specifically, which seems consistent with what I've seen in the past:

    Anybody have any insight?

Are you/have you tried cue'ing your take items before taking them online?

    Hey Garner,
I've tried that with Dynamic URLs and while it seemed better, I still had to develop that slow mask transition to more reliably hide pop-in.
I'll try it again on this newer Static URL project today and see if it helps.

Is there a common practice for using Cue'ing for take items?
We control everything through Dashboard, so pressing a button would cue up different scenes needed as different tasks and then a final task to Swap and get them all online, so maybe the speed that was happening is why I wasn't seeing ideal results?
