  • 1.  Scene Director - Pause

    Posted 11-02-2022 13:28
So this might be a super easy "issue" that I am just not seeing, but in my scene director I have two tracks. One is a moving background and the other is a title that keys over the background. I know how to put in a pause, BUT how can I just pause the title track and then have a key press (spacebar) to then animate the title when I want it to?
Seems as if the pause will pause all tracks.
    Any help will be great.

    Make the background a renderview.
As in, make a scene that is your background and then use it as a renderview material in all your scenes that need that background.

    Hello.
So I must just be missing something here, but for the life of me I don't quite understand this. So I make a new scene then do I add a background from the base object in the objects library? Is that what you mean by make a scene that is my background?
Then if that is correct, I would go to the materials manager and create a new material and make it a renderview material.
I will stop there to see if I am even on track.

Yes you can make a scene that you want to be the background and then make a material, a render view of that scene and then apply it to a background object.

Another way to do what you want is to have 2 scene directors. Then use a scene trigger from scene director 1 to trigger the other scene director that you don't want to pause so that both are playing at the same time. Then the one with the pause on will pause and the other will be unaffected.

    Hi all.
Michelle, it's so easy. Create a new scene director. Move the background animation to the new scene director (in the previous scene director, leave only the title animation with the pause event). Set the old scene director as default. Add a Scene Director trigger Into the previous Scene Director, that should run to play the new Scene Director. If you want your background to play in a loop, add an event with "Jump to frame - 0" to the end of the background animation. After everything you have done, start your scene in the sequencer by pressing Enter on the numpad. Then press Enter on the numeric numpad again to continue the animation.
