We've tried both, and we've tried both new and old style sharing, tried sharing on OneDrive, and it's not the sheet - this happens all the time. I believe it has more to do with how Excel/Windows is doing sharing. #XPression

Nope. We just have to make sure everything is saved, and occasionally the PA needs to close the workbook. #XPression

I realize this is more of failing with excel and not Xpression/Datalinq, but we have a master spreadsheet with sports data in it, teams, matchups, the usual. Our production assistant fills in most of the data; operators may fill in certain fields that have, for example, the name of image files, and ...

Because then I have to do that for like 600 players, and there's a rule for when there's no first name given that is easy in VB Scripting, but a pain in Excel formula. But whatever. I just put the OnSetText script on both; the first one just fails, the second one works, it doesn't matter which order ...

Ok, so here's an example of trying to keep everything in sync; I have a first name text field, and a last name text field, and I set a texture based on both (last_first.png); I put the OnSetText event on the last name, but sometimes it works, and sometimes, when it runs, it runs before the first name ...

I have 3 datalinq keys: MATCH, TEAM1, and TEAM2 Using an Excel workbook as a datasource, MATCH selects the desired match up on one sheet, where two Text objects are set to team1 and team2 (text from the spreadsheet); those objects have an onSetText that sets the TEAM1 and TEAM2 (datalinq keys) to ...

I figured it out.... it would be nice to select a material from the library, but this works... you need to get the face attribute (the color is coming in as a comma separated list of RGB values): dim values() = split(Text, ",") if Engine.GetFontByName("Team" & item & "Font", font) then if ...

I need to change font materials, and can't seem to figure out how to do it. I have two team fonts: Team1Font, Team2Font. I get that I can use tags, so when I'm setting something for team 1, I can use: textObject.TextWithTags = "(Team1Font)" & my_text_value That changes the font; however, ...

Hey, I'm a developer with developer dongle. Our production systems are currently 8.7, and I need to work on a project - but I don't have that version. The current download page has 9.0 - but I need developer 8.7. Is there somewhere to go for older downloads? #XPression

Will this change the way I can use the dongle? If I update it when I'm working at home, will I still be able to use it on my office system? #XPression

I have no way to test this, but from the API Documentation: Dim board As xpGPIBoard engine.GetGPIBoard(0, board) board.TriggerAction(PinID.Value) The board would need to be defined in Xpression, I'd assume. Put in OnOnline and OnOffline events. #XPression

I'm trying to write a script to highlight a column of values (all separate text fields) based on a control value. I have two materials, WHITE and GOLD. Obviously, you can enter "(m:WHITE)SOMETHING" or "(m:GOLD)SOMETHING" in the take item data, and it's all good. I need the scene to decide ...

Yes, the offset settings - but what effect does CCD width and height have? I understand the offset values are center of zoom shifts, and are really important, but manually setting them (instead of allowing VCC to do it), and keeping the CCD width and height at 0 doesn't seem to negatively affect tracking. ...

Good question. I was going to suggest making a superscript font that you could tag, but I see no way to vertically shift or top align it. Even this website editor allows[SUP]superscript.[/SUP] #XPression

I think there's really no simple way to do it except fall back to scripting. Would be interesting to be able to define global functions that were callable from visual logic, but that's a pretty tall order. You could try setting a a hidden text object's text value to the number you want the square root ...

Wondering what effect the camera CCD height and width actually have on rendering. When we are done tracking, and go back into our scene to do some work, the perspective camera we've created is way off somewhere, so we: 1. Put the object we want to look at on the origin (0, 0, 0) 2 Manually ...

Sorry, I could really look into doing it the way you want, but it would take a little while. If you're using datalinq to get the data, though, some basic SQL should help - something like SELECT * WHERE Party IN ("GRN", "LIB", "PC", "NDP") ORDER BY Votes. Let Xpression do the work for you if it can. ...

I seem to be having a problem opening a serial connection to Xpression and triggering multiple GPIs. So I am obtaining live data, and have 10 possible GPI triggers based on the live data; if the updates come in slowly, it seems to work OK, but if they happen too fast, I seem to lose some triggers. ...
